Environmental Protection

Environmental protection is protecting the natural environment by individuals, organizations and governments. There are many ways to protect the environment, from reducing consumption to recycling.  The goal is to preserve natural resources and prevent damage to those resources and reverse trends.

When we protect the environment, we enable a thriving environment for Wildlife and human beings in the ecosystem. An ecosystem is the biological community of interacting organisms with their physical environment. The setting helps protect the ecosystem: Changes affecting the ecosystem put multiple species in danger of extinction hence the need of protecting the environment. Ecosystems are entirely connected to one another.

Wildlife can be found in ecosystems like rainforests, plains, grasslands, deserts, and forests, including in the most developed countries. In the civilization of humans, there is a tendency to separate from Wildlife in many ways, including social, moral sense, and legal. However, humans adapted to different environments have domesticated animals such as cats and dogs.

According to the World Wildlife Fund’s 2020 Living Planet Report, animal populations worldwide have declined by 68% since 1970 because of human activity, particularly overconsumption, population growth, and intensive farming.

Animals living in the wild encounter a lot of natural threats that are entirely or partially innate, such as starvation, dehydration, parasitic infestation, predation, disease, injury, and extreme weather. The exploitation of wild populations has been heavily affected by humans, thus leading to the extinction of a particular population.

Habitat degradation and overexploitation are the primary causes of most of the hazards wildlife and their population face. Changes in climate, as well as contaminants, have a significant influence on the destruction of habitat. Many governments and other nonprofit organizations are highly concerned about this and are working to protect Wildlife.

Human actions have resulted in the collapse of numerous ecosystems. We must take great care to take appropriate steps to maintain the safety of our environment, and only then can we plan on the ability to use this world to thrive. It is critical to point out that the environmental impact of any action should be considered significant.

Why is it important to protect wild animals?

Humans and Wildlife peacefully coexist, and through their existence, Wildlife provides balance and stability to nature’s processes. The goal of wildlife conservation is to ensure these species’ survival and educate people on living sustainably with other endangered species to prevent their extinction.

The conservation of Wildlife is necessary for the prevention of drought and famine, new deserts, fires, and floods. This conservation ensures that future generations of humans and Wildlife will be surrounded by nature, thereby loving it and understanding the significance of protecting Wildlife.

Wildlife functions as a gene pool for various resistant bacteria that cause disease symptoms. Wildlife enhances food production. Pollinating agents like birds and bees help in increasing the productivity of plants.

Furthermore, Wildlife contributes to medicinal resources. Humans have benefitted from various species of microscopic animals, fungi, animals and plants in other ways. The wild plant species are responsible for producing multiple pharmaceutical drugs worldwide.

Up-to-date information regarding the interaction between various species and the ecosystem due to their influence on the wildlife experience and knowledge gained through interactions with the environment can help preserve Wildlife. Potential habitats are the types of protected areas that have been set aside to preserve Wildlife and Wildlife are wildlife sanctuaries, national parks, and biospheres. To conserve and protect Wildlife, we begin with wildlife sanctuaries, national parks and bio reserves. National parks in our country are to preserve and protect endangered species, maintain the ecological balance, and give shelter to endangered species.

Ways to Protect Wild Animals for future generations and all living things

Humans have a collective responsibility to protect the environment for future generations and all living things existing so that we can all thrive together. Protecting ecosystems and ensuring the health of animals involves preserving them and tending to the environment.

  1. Plant trees

Trees play an essential role in utilizing the atmosphere’s resources by assisting the atmosphere with generating oxygen and absorbing toxic gases from the air. Trees help to create an extensive ecosystem of items. By planting trees, we facilitate this procedure and serve as a habitat for several different plants and animals that reside in various seasons. Plantlife nourishes both plant and animal life to a greater extent.

  1. Please keep it clean.

In our efforts to control pests in our farming activities, we use chemicals that may be harmful to Wildlife like butterflies and bees, which are helpful to humans and the Earth in general. When we use fertilizer in our farming, this fertilizer can find its way to water sources leading to pollution of rivers, lakes and oceans, causing harmful algae blooms, and poisoning the aquatic life, leading to thousands of deaths. Humans should choose natural pest control methods to discourage pests in the garden and change to using organic fertilizers like animal manure or compost to reduce chemical zed fertilizers in the environment.

  1. Pick up trash

Be responsible for your trash. Picking up trash protects the environment, keeps our surroundings clean, and saves Wildlife. Plastic bags and threads can easily trap birds and other smaller animals, resulting in their death or harm. Throw what you don’t need into recycling bins in your neighbourhood, keep them clean to protect Wildlife, and collect litter to keep an area tidy.

  1. Adopt an animal

You might have the desire to own an animal. By adopting animals, you will be an animal champion and defender, and your donation will go a long way to improve habitats, research, monitoring, and in the long run, save the endangered species. Are you that animal fanatic? Take in a new best friend today!

  1. Take action

Are you concerned about poaching, the cruelty to animals that violates their rights? Did you know you can take action for these acts through various wildlife care clubs and legislate laws? By taking action, you will give a voice to the voiceless.

  1. Stay Informed

Information is power, be a good ambassador for wildlife protection in your surrounding environment. The human population increase poses a threat to Wildlife as previous resources become scarce. Whether it’s for food, science or illegal poaching, humans endanger animals, sometimes without considering the favourable impact wildlife has on the future of our planet. Stay informed on the issues, know your impact on the ecosystem and take part in protecting Wildlife, the present and future generations will be grateful.

In conclusion, the human population has grown drastically over the past, continuing to multiply. This growth and development endanger the habitats and existence of various types of Wildlife across the globe, particularly animals and plants that may be displaced for the plot of land or used for food or other human uses. There are other threats that Wildlife may face, including the introduction of invasive species from different parts of Earth, climate change, pollution, hunting, fishing, and poaching.

Healthy ecosystems clean our water, purify our air, regulate the climate, maintain our soil recycle nutrients and provide us with food. They provide raw materials and resources for medicines. Healthy ecosystems are at the foundation of all civilization and a sustainable economy. People must consider the importance of the preservation of ecosystems to mitigate the declines in plant and animal species caused by significant amounts of anthropogenic activity.

Air and water pollution, deforestation, global warming, acid rain, and wildfires are just a few of the environmental issues we are facing. It is everyone’s responsibility to take care of the environment to make this planet a great place to live. Simple modifications in your everyday life are all that is needed to reduce your effect on the environment.
